the fire element in astrology:

fire is one of the four elements in astrology, symbolizing the spirit. if the soul is the essence of a life, then the spirit is the force which travels across timelines and dimensions. it is the creative channel that the Divine moves through in order to bring thought form into the material realm. some of fire’s functions in the material world is to provide light and warmth, generate energy, purify through destruction, and aid in cooking — a form of creation. through the lens of astrology, we can use the element of fire to manifest our truest desires as a byproduct of empowerment.

the three fire signs in the zodiac are aries, leo, and sagittarius that all relate to personal awareness, the gateway to sovereign creation.  if you have any placements in these signs, you can use the planetary and zodiacal archetypes to tap into your own energetic field of sovereign creation. if you don’t have any placements, you can also tap into this frequency by focusing on the area of life these signs rule over in your chart houses. 

aries — the divine spark

before there was anything, there was just pure darkness. as the first sign of the zodiac, aries is the solo flame within the darkness. to describe aries energy in a nutshell, it is when God said, “let there be light” and there was light. the state of darkness to light within the darkness is caused by no other than the divine spark that lives within us all. it is the awareness of consciousness which derives from the Divine, the Infinite — the “I Am”. 

the beautiful thing about aries energy in its natural state is that it realizes that it can be anything that it wants to take form as. the infinite amount of possibilities that can come after the unfinished statement “I Am…” reveals that we came into this world to be whoever we wanted to be. whether you choose to say “i am broke” or “i am rich” is totally up to you. aries recognizes that no one can tell you who you are except for you. no one can tell you what you desire out of life except for you. who you genuinely decide to be in this lifetime is tethered to that connection to the Divine, as long as it’s cosigned by you. the power of aries comes from not needing validation from the external world—we are already validated by the Divine. 

this is why aries is known to be a visionary—not a visionary for the world, but a visionary for what one sees for their own life and in turn causes a ripple effect that touches the collective. aries prioritizes thinking big, instead of being confined to the limits of other people’s projections. sovereign creation starts with being able to lean into that divine spark that has been birthed from the world of endless possibilities, even when it seems scary or unrealistic. 

leo — the creator

leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac, still exuding youthful energy in the cycle of life through the zodiac. unlike aries, the newborn baby that has yet to be molded by the world, leo molds their own world. here in leo, our awareness that we are an aspect of pure consciousness transcends into the awareness that we can physically create whatever life we want for ourselves. you can’t go out there and create the life that you want without the confidence that it can be done. leo has interacted with the world, it has been shaped by the ego, witnessed the projections of others, and still has the audacity to create what comes from the heart. as a fixed sign, you can’t trick leo out of its spot, or better yet, its throne. 

leo emits a special type of strength that is important for building and sustaining a kingdom. rome wasn’t built in day. to be a sovereign creator at this stage means to be able to stay loyal to the vision, even when things aren’t working out, even when naysayers are in your ear, even when enemies try to dim your light. leo is ruled by the sun and the sun has never not showed up for the day, rain or shine. leo reminds us that to be able to materialize the life that we want means that you need to exude the confidence and strength as a leader in order to guard our kingdoms. 

projections are thrown to people in high positions to see if they are who they say they are. as lupe fiasco said, “if you are what you say you are, a superstar, then have no fear, the camera’s here”. treat your life like a movie by playing the main character and go out there and put on a good show—rain or shine. 

sagittarius — God’s favorite

the most mature of the fire signs, sagittarius, comes in as the ninth sign of the zodiac. it takes an effort of deprogramming and rewiring in order for one to embody sagittarius energy in its purest state. by this stage, one has been through the ups and downs of the life experience, giving the substance of life to them. from the awareness of it being your world where you can create whatever you desire within it, we now transcend into an energy of an inner knowing. your thoughts do not create your reality because you are not your thoughts—thoughts are fleeting and inherently hold no weight. YOU create your reality. when you identify with your thoughts and now these thoughts are tethered to your existence and potential, then these thoughts become who you know yourself to be. your thoughts become what you know life to be. 

when you know that you deserve to live the life that you want, it is by universal law that you will receive that. what you know becomes your dominant frequency, which mirrors what you end up receiving in this life. i call sagittarius “God’s favorite” because sagittarius carries this optimism that is rooted in the divine notion that everything is working out their favor—and because it is their knowing, it reflects in their reality. that is the gift of matured fire energy. there is comfort in taking risks because no matter what happens, things are working out. there is a desire to explore, travel to new places, and take different avenues than normal because there is no fear of failure or restraint due to what one deems as realistic. 

sagittarius is not afraid to go against what it was taught by man and gives itself the space and the authority to learn from life, when true wisdom is collected. it is the matured flame that serves as a guiding light on the beautiful path paved in gold for the sovereign creator. when you are aware that you are inseparable from the Divine (aries), and you show up every day acting like it (leo), then the spirit has no choice but to align you with your genuine desires (sagittarius). it happens so effortlessly and so naturally if you stay true to that inner fire.
